Javelina.

The coaches.

Four coaches, every certification named — because “certified trainers” is what gyms say when they’re hoping you won’t ask. A coach is on the floor at every class on the schedule, including Open Gym.

Alma Reyes — Founder & Head Coach at Javelina Barbell Club

Alma Reyes

Founder & Head Coach

  • DPT — Doctor of Physical Therapy
  • Weightlifting-certified coach (Level 1)
  • Nutrition-certified coach

Spent six years as a physical therapist before opening Javelina in 2018 — tired of meeting people only after something had already gone wrong.

Runs every On-Ramp session personally. Believes the first three classes decide whether someone comes back for the fourth.
